The event, set to take place in the Plaza de la Candelaria, has generated significant interest, exceeding the maximum number of registered participants. The artistic direction is led by Paula Álvarez, with artistic production by Yeray Piñero, and promoted by the Councillor for Festivities, Javier Caraballero.
Among the contestants are notable figures such as Ana del Pino Hernández, wife of folklorist Manolo Mena; Elena González, daughter of the renowned 'father of the murgas' of the Canary Islands; and María Isabel Fernández, known as Peque Quiance, founder of the pioneering choreographic group Los Bohemios.
The choreography for the candidates' parade has been designed by Fran Romero. Designer Damián Rodríguez is dressing the largest number of candidates, with seven representatives, followed by Texenery Moreno. Both are heirs to the legacy of the late Lali Sierra and are responsible for more than half of the outfits to be showcased at the gala.
The candidates will wear traditional costumes representing various areas and eras of the islands, such as the women's costume from Chasna, the grape harvester's attire from the North, or the women's festive costume from Lanzarote, among others.
