Costa Adeje Tenerife Egatesa and coach Yerai Martín have reached an agreement to extend their contract for another season, ensuring the Basque coach's continuity at the helm of the blue and white team for the 2026/27 campaign. Since his arrival last winter transfer market, Martín has successfully instilled a competitive and solid identity in the team, culminating in a brilliant second half of the season that placed Costa Adeje Tenerife Egatesa in fourth position in the Liga F Moeve and qualified them for the semi-finals of the Copa de la Reina.
Yerai Martín's debut on the Tenerife bench took place on January 11th at Riazor against Deportivo Abanca. Since then, he has managed a total of 19 official matches between league and cup, achieving a record of nine wins, six draws, and only four defeats. Of these, two occurred in the league against top-tier opponents such as FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atlético de Madrid.
Under his guidance, the team has particularly stood out for its defensive strength, becoming the third-best defense in the category with only 12 goals conceded across all competitions. Offensively, the team has shown more solid performance, scoring 27 goals. At home, at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López, performance has been notably strong in the second half of the season, with six victories, one draw, and two losses, solidifying the stadium as a difficult venue for opponents.
“"A renewal hard-earned. The growth of the club and Yerai's growth are at an all-time high."
Jordi Torres, the club's sporting director, positively assessed the coach's continuity, calling it “a renewal hard-earned.” Torres highlighted the “growth of the club and Yerai” and emphasized the team's improved image and home performance. He also valued the coach's commitment to the project.
“"I am very grateful to the club for the trust and very happy and excited to be able to continue here. I am eager to face this new season from the beginning."
For his part, Yerai Martín expressed his gratitude for the club's trust and his excitement to continue. “I am very grateful to the club for the trust and very happy and excited to be able to continue here,” he stated, admitting he is “eager to face this new season from the beginning.” He anticipates a campaign that will be “very demanding, but also very ambitious.”
