From the Education and Public Works departments, managed by the Popular Party, various improvement and refurbishment actions have been promoted in the schools of Los Llanos de Aridane for the start of the school year, which begins this Wednesday, September 9. The Councilor for Education, Eduardo Pérez, detailed that in recent months, work has been reinforced to ensure that the facilities are ready to receive students.
Interventions carried out include the renovation of playgrounds, the installation of water fountains in courtyards, and painting, plumbing, carpentry, and locksmith work. These improvements are complemented by the installation of new shaded areas, resulting from a space naturalization project funded by the Canary Islands Government's Ministry of Education.
Pérez emphasized the importance of caring for educational facilities as part of the daily well-being of children, assuring that they work in contact with the centers to respond to their needs and provide more comfortable and secure spaces. The Ministry of Education, and particularly its minister Poli Suárez, were thanked for their sensitivity and willingness towards Los Llanos de Aridane and La Palma.
For his part, the Councilor for Public Works, José María Rivera, stressed that school maintenance is an ongoing task, not limited to school holidays. He explained that actions are carried out throughout the year, allowing needs to be addressed as they arise and more efficiently managing the workload during the summer, reserving this period for larger interventions.
Additionally, specific works have been executed according to the demands of each center, such as the installation of air conditioning units and the reconfiguration of interior spaces through new classroom divisions. The coordination between the Education and Public Works departments was highlighted as a key factor for progress in improving school facilities.
The Popular Party of Los Llanos de Aridane concludes that constant planning and joint work by both departments are fundamental to responding to the needs of the centers and continuing to improve their educational infrastructure.
