The alerts primarily affect Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Gomera, El Hierro, and La Palma. In Gran Canaria, high temperatures are expected, reaching up to 34 ºC in the peaks and eastern, southern, and western areas, with the possibility of reaching 37 ºC. Alerts are also activated for coastal phenomena and wind with gusts of up to 70 km/h in the east, south, and west of the island.
Tenerife, La Gomera, and El Hierro will also experience alerts for northeasterly winds with gusts of up to 70 km/h, especially in low-lying areas of the southeast and west slopes. These alerts will extend throughout Friday on these islands.
For Friday, La Palma joins the warnings with a yellow alert for northeasterly winds and strong waves in its western area, with winds of 50 to 61 km/h.
Aemet specifies that the coastal phenomena in Gran Canaria will affect the east, south, and west, with winds of 50 to 61 km/h, particularly in the southeast of the island and the channel between Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
