Artist Anaé presented her show ‘Al otro lado del Atlántico’ at the venue next to the Candelaria Town Hall, as part of the festivities honoring Nuestra Señora de Candelaria. The performance paid tribute to the folk roots of the singer, a resident of Barranco Hondo.
During the concert, buzios sounded thanks to the collaboration of the Guanches de Candelaria collective, and the timple was played by Zebensui Castillo de Andrade, a member of the Chajoigo Folk Group. Singer David Afonso also participated in the evening.
The mayor of Candelaria, Mari Brito, expressed her emotion at seeing Anaé perform in her municipality: «She is an artist who has never let go of her roots, and last night they were there, in the bucios, in the timple, and in every song». She congratulated the artist and thanked the participating collectives and local artists, highlighting the Town Hall's pride in providing a space for local talent during the Patron Saint's Festivals.
The Fiestas program continues this Wednesday, August 12th, at 9:30 PM, with the 4th International Folklore Festival Villa de Candelaria at the same venue.
