The Candelaria City Council has opened the application period for 2026 sports grants, amounting to 90,000 euros, aimed at sports entities and individual athletes from the municipality.

The application submission period will be open from tomorrow, July 16th, until August 6th, inclusive. The total amount of the call remains at 90,000 euros, the same as in the previous edition.
The mayor of Candelaria, Mari Brito, emphasized that the call is a way to "accompany the daily effort of clubs and athletes," highlighting the competitive level and pride they represent for the municipality. "Candelaria's sport gives us reasons to be proud every year," she stated.
The Councilor for Sports, Manuel González, explained that the grants are aimed at non-profit sports clubs and associations, legally constituted, and at individual athletes registered in Candelaria who participate in official competitions or events relevant to the promotion of the municipality. "We want no club or athlete to be left without the support they deserve," he added.
20,000 euros will be allocated to individual athletes and 70,000 euros to entities. The bases, which detail the eligible expenses, can be consulted on the municipal website in the Sports area.
Sports entities must submit their applications through the Electronic Office. Individual athletes can do so either through the Electronic Office or, by prior appointment, at the Citizen Service Office.
