The Candelaria City Council has approved an extension of closing hours for hospitality establishments during the night of August 14th to 15th, on the occasion of the festivities honoring Our Lady of Candelaria.

The measure, processed through a Municipal Decree by the Department of Commerce, will allow bars, cafes, restaurants, taverns, and similar establishments to extend their hours until 5:00 AM on August 15th, 2026.
This extension coincides with one of the busiest nights of the Festivities of the Patron Saint of the Canary Islands, when the municipality welcomes numerous pilgrims arriving on foot from various points on the island and the entire Archipelago to accompany the Virgin on her great day.
The Councilor for Commerce, María del Carmen Clemente, has informed the sector that this initiative represents an opportunity to extend their opening hours and meet customer needs during one of the busiest days of the year in the municipality, always within the terms set forth in the Municipal Decree.
