The Festivities in honor of the Virgen de Candelaria, Patron Saint of the Canary Islands, continue their program with two new musical events. The performances will take place in the venue next to the City Hall, starting at 9:30 PM. Admission is free until full capacity.
The mayor of Candelaria, Mari Brito, has invited the public to participate in these evenings. "These two days very well summarize what our festivities are: music that unites us on both sides of the Atlantic and a folklore that is part of who we are," she stated, encouraging residents and visitors to join them.
The first performance will be on Tuesday, August 11, featuring the concert by Anaé. The artist will present her show «Al otro lado del Atlántico» (On the Other Side of the Atlantic), a musical proposal aiming to build bridges between continents.
The following day, Wednesday, August 12, the 4th International Folklore Festival Villa de Candelaria will be held. It will feature the participation of the Folklore Group Chajoigo, from the Canary Islands, and the Dance Company Iskali, from Saltillo (Mexico). The presentation of the event will be hosted by Eva García, and the festival's coordination is the responsibility of Chajoigo.
Both groups offered a preview of their performance last Sunday at the Cho Morrocoyo Cultural Center in Barranco Hondo, attracting a large audience.
