Candelaria enables Sports Pavilion for blood donation

The Canary Health Service mobile unit will be operational until Wednesday at Puntalarga to facilitate donations.

Starting today, residents of Candelaria can donate blood at the Puntalarga Sports Pavilion, where a mobile unit from the Canary Health Service will be available until Wednesday.

The Directorate General of Blood Donation and Hemotherapy of the Canary Health Service (SCS) has set up a mobile unit at the Pabellón de Deportes de Puntalarga, in Candelaria, to facilitate blood donation for the population. The facility will be active from today until next Wednesday, from 10:15 AM to 1:45 PM and from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
In addition to this temporary campaign, there are fixed donation points in Tenerife. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the fixed point located on Méndez Núñez street is open Monday to Friday from 9:15 AM to 8:15 PM (except holidays).
At the San Isidro Health Center, in Granadilla de Abona, donations are possible Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM and from 2:15 PM to 7:30 PM (except holidays). This center has reserved parking for donors and telephone assistance is available at 677980518.
Within the hospital network, the University Hospital of the Canary Islands allows donations without an appointment from Sunday to Friday and on holidays from 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM, and on Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM and from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM (contact: 922678670).
The University Hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria serves donors without an appointment from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, except holidays. The contact number is 922602060.
Donations can also be made at Hospiten Bellevue, in Puerto de la Cruz, by requesting an appointment at 922385235 (option 1), Monday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM (except holidays).
Finally, at the San Juan de Dios Hospital, on the road to Santa Cruz La Laguna, donations are accepted Monday to Friday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, except holidays.
Basic requirements for blood donation include being between eighteen and 65 years old (up to sixty for a first-time donation), weighing over fifty kilograms, and being in generally good health.
