The Candelaria City Council is advancing the implementation of the SICTED program (Sustainability, Intelligence, and Tourist Quality in the Destination Ecosystem) with a new phase focused on incorporating tourism businesses and services.

Nine companies have already applied for adhesion to this initiative, which aims to promote the adoption of good practices and continuous improvement in the sector. The SICTED provides a work framework tailored to the needs of each participant.
The mayor of Candelaria, Mari Brito, highlighted the importance of business involvement in moving towards a more sustainable and intelligent tourist destination. She noted that the program facilitates direct collaboration between companies and the local administration, supporting each participant in enhancing the professionalization and quality of services offered.
Currently, new companies are formalizing their adhesions by signing Adhesion Protocols, while individual advisory sessions are being conducted via video call to guide each participant and facilitate compliance with the program's requirements.
The Councilor for Commerce, María del Carmen Clemente, encourages tourism businesses and services in the municipality to join this initiative. Further information can be obtained via email at sicted@candelaria.es or by phone at 636 074 989.
The deadline to join this new edition and be eligible for future distinctions will end in October. Prior to the next Distinction Committee, participating companies must complete various requirements, including training actions, consultations, and evaluations outlined in the program.
The SICTED is a program promoted by the Secretariat of State for Tourism that fosters continuous improvement in tourist destinations through coordinated work with the various services and agents forming part of the tourism ecosystem. It establishes a support model to facilitate the implementation of good practices, with special attention to social, economic, and environmental sustainability, as well as service quality, as strategic pillars for destination development.
