The project involves replacing 1,225 linear meters of supply network with 100 mm ductile iron pipes. This action seeks to enhance hydraulic performance, reduce the risk of breakdowns, and ensure higher quality and continuity of service for local residents.
The work, which began on Monday, August 3rd, commenced at the intersection of Calle Vence and the TF-247, heading downhill. The mayor, Mari Brito, highlighted that these works, with a budget of €896,272.99, represent one of the most significant investments in hydraulic infrastructure for the municipality in recent years.
During execution, temporary traffic disruptions and access modifications are expected in the area, including circulation restrictions and provisional detours. Pedestrian access to homes will be maintained, although temporary limitations for garage access may occur. Any planned water supply cuts will be communicated in advance.
The City Council and Aqualia request the cooperation of residents and adherence to provisional signage. Individuals with reduced mobility or daily medical needs are asked to communicate their situation in advance.
Additionally, property owners are offered the opportunity to renew the public service connection section free of charge. Aqualia will carry out this renewal at no cost, while the owner will be responsible for wall grooving and facade finishing. This renewal is recommended to reduce future breakdowns.
Furthermore, it is reminded that many meters are located inside homes or in difficult-to-access locations. Owners who undertake the necessary civil works to enable a new meter location will benefit from the free relocation of the meter and the renewal of the connection by the Municipal Water Service.
