Romano street will become one-way uphill. This modification will allow existing parking spaces to be maintained, avoiding parking restrictions for safety reasons that would be necessary if the street remained two-way.
Additionally, access for buses and heavy vehicles to this street will be restricted to prevent maneuvering difficulties on the existing curve and to improve safety conditions for all users.
The City Council has a comprehensive rehabilitation project for Romano street, funded with 1,429,715.79 euros from municipal savings, with its tender expected soon.
Furthermore, this Wednesday, September 2nd, the direction of traffic will be changed on a section of Alcalde Antonio Hernández Marrero street, specifically between San José and Llano de la Rosa streets. Currently two-way, it will become one-way uphill, allowing for approximately 20 new parking spaces.
These actions respond to the needs identified in the area and aim to balance safer and more orderly traffic with the maintenance and expansion of available parking spaces in the upper part of Barranco Hondo.
