Patients admitted to the center, affiliated with the Health Department of the Government of the Canary Islands, rated the overall hospital care very positively. According to the ESAH 2025 data, 99 percent of respondents favorably assessed the medical and nursing staff.
The departments of Gynecology, Oncology, Neurology, Digestive Diseases, Angiology and Vascular Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery were the most highly rated, averaging over nine points. The hospital doubled the number of specialties achieving this high rating compared to 2024.
Regarding treatment and information, 98.7 percent of participants felt their privacy was respected, while 96.7 percent stated they were clearly informed about their condition and treatment plan. Furthermore, 96.3 percent received information and gave consent before any tests or procedures.
The care provided by administrative staff, cleaning teams, and orderlies was also positively rated by over 90 percent of patients.
In the obstetrics unit, 94.1 percent of women who gave birth at the hospital received information on the benefits of breastfeeding, and 98.5 percent received guidance on newborn care. All patients rated the care in the Maternity Ward positively, and 95.56 percent were satisfied with the time spent with their child.
The Hospital Discharge Satisfaction Survey (ESAH) is conducted annually by the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) to evaluate healthcare activity. In 2025, a total of 773 patients were surveyed, with 52 percent being women and 48 percent men. The largest age group among respondents was those over 70 years old.
