Fundación Canarina has announced the allocation of 25,000 euros in aid to four organizations dedicated to animal protection in Tenerife and La Palma. These funds will be used to improve the living conditions of hundreds of abandoned or mistreated animals residing in shelters.
The beneficiary organizations—Asociación para la Protección de los Animales APROA, Asociación Animalista Catslovers, Los Nogales, and APANOT—will utilize the resources to cover essential needs. Planned actions include sterilization and castration campaigns, feeding, the construction of quarantine enclosures for dogs and cats, installation of roofing and climate shading, and general repair of cages and facilities.
This call for aid, which this year has been extended to include organizations from La Palma, is part of Fundación Canarina's ongoing commitment to animal welfare in the archipelago. In previous editions, this aid enabled the funding of over 300 sterilizations and castrations, along with other significant improvements to shelter infrastructure and support for the adoption of rescued animals.
The Foundation is already planning the fourth edition of this aid program, scheduled for 2027, with the aim of continuing to expand its support for organizations working tirelessly for animal welfare in the Canary Islands.
