The festival will bring together prominent Canary Islands burger restaurants, recognized for their commitment to quality and the use of local produce. The official presentation of the event took place at the Casa Consistorial.
Mayor Francisco Linares highlighted the importance of events of this scale in attracting residents and visitors, merging culinary trends with the promotion of local products. Meanwhile, the councilor for commerce, Deisy Ramos, emphasized the initiative as a proposal to boost the local economy, commerce, and hospitality sector.
Bernardo Barreda, the festival organizer, detailed that the public will be able to enjoy a varied gastronomic offer and a complete music program with DJ sets and live performances. The event will feature the participation of various Canary Islands restaurants and food trucks presenting their recipes with local and zero-kilometer products.
A contest will be held to choose the best burger of the event through a blind tasting, with prizes of €500 for the winner, €300 for the runner-up, and €150 for third place, plus a €150 prize voted by the public. The winner will gain direct entry to the grand final in 2027 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The music program for Friday, August 7th, will include sets by Roger S Morgan (6:00 PM - 9:00 PM) and Juana La Cubana (9:00 PM - 12:00 AM). On Saturday, August 8th, music will start at 2:00 PM with MCR Selector (until 6:00 PM), followed by Tana Sandoval (6:00 PM - 8:00 PM), the live performance by Ni 1 Pelo de Tonto (8:00 PM - 9:30 PM), and the closing concert by La Maldita (9:30 PM - 12:00 AM).
The festival will also feature a vegan and gluten-free zone, a sweet treats area for dessert lovers, and a selection of craft and imported beers.
Burger Fest Canarias La Orotava is supported by the La Orotava City Council, the Government of the Canary Islands, and Comercio de Canarias. Founded in 2019, the event has established itself as a gastronomic benchmark in the Canary Islands, having held over 30 editions and attracting nearly a million visitors.
