Three people rescued after falling into the sea in Puerto de la Cruz

A local resident and the individuals themselves assisted in the rescue of three people who accidentally fell into the water at Playa Jardín.

Three people were rescued this Saturday after accidentally falling into the sea at Playa Jardín, in the municipality of Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife).

The incident occurred around 6:05 PM, when the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2 received the alert. Before emergency services arrived, a local resident assisted one woman, while two men managed to get out of the water on their own.
Healthcare personnel from the Canary Islands Urgency Service (SUC) attended to two of the affected individuals at the scene. A 21-year-old man showed symptoms of incomplete drowning of moderate severity and was transferred to Hospiten Bellevue University Hospital.
A 20-year-old woman, rescued by a local, sustained minor bruises and was treated by a basic life support ambulance from the SUC. The third person involved, a man, was able to exit the sea without assistance.
