The 20 young aspirants for the title of Miss Sur 2026 were presented today, Thursday, July 9, at the Siam Park water park. After the event, the candidates took the opportunity to spend the day enjoying the park's attractions. The event was attended by the mayor of Granadilla de Abona, José Domingo Regalado; the Councilor for Tourism, Eudita Mendoza; the Councilor for Culture and Festivals, Carlos Abismael Díaz Barreto; and the event director, Sandro Pérgola.
The final gala will take place on Friday, July 24, at 9:30 PM in the Plaza of El Médano, with free admission. This event is part of the Sansofé activities program, which offers a schedule of free events during the summer, including concerts, cinema, and children's activities.
Both the mayor and the event director emphasized that Miss Sur goes beyond a conventional beauty pageant. The contestants have the opportunity to develop in areas such as communication, image, and healthy lifestyles, fostering values like respect, mutual support, empathy, and teamwork. "These are some of the elements that make this pageant an opportunity for learning and development for all of them, beyond a crown or title," stated Sandro Pérgola.
The pageant, now in its 14th edition, is supported by private companies and public institutions from the south of Tenerife, including the Municipalities of Granadilla de Abona, Arona, Adeje, San Miguel de Abona, Guía de Isora, Arico, Arafo, and Güímar.
