The Port Authority of Las Palmas has ordered the administrative eviction of a vessel from the Marina due to unauthorized occupation and has rejected appeals from four other owners.

The Port Authority of Las Palmas has executed the administrative eviction of another vessel from the public port area in the Small Craft Dock. The boat was occupying its mooring without proper authorization and did not comply with the prior requirement to vacate.
According to the public body, a total of 37 vessels have been evicted to date. In the latest Board of Directors meeting, four appeals filed by owners of other vessels against the denial of their mooring use permits at the Marina were also dismissed.
The Port Authority specified that the evicted vessels were being used as residences, a use not permitted in the public port area. The platform Mi Barco, Mi Casa had previously reported on the order to evict over 100 vessels from the marina.
The platform has expressed concern for vulnerable individuals, citing the case of an elderly person with a serious illness in palliative care who also received an eviction notice and has sought legal counsel.
Furthermore, the platform claims that the management of the Marina is denying the possibility of paying mooring fees without providing any specific reasons.
Separately, the President of the Port Authority, Beatriz Calzada, reported on the execution of the eviction from the Sotavento Shopping Center on June 15th, regaining possession of empty premises and common areas.
Currently, three businesses occupy premises within the building: the Allende restaurant and the FIFO diving shop, for which judicial authorization for forced eviction is pending, and the offices of Canarias Óptima Profesional S.L., whose administrative eviction procedure is in progress. The Board has delegated the resolution of this latter case to the Presidency to ensure its legal compliance.
