The municipality of Arucas will host the new edition of ‘Arucas y el Mar’ from September 9 to 27, a program aimed at bringing citizens closer to the natural values of its coast and promoting the protection of the marine ecosystem.

The Department of Environment of the Arucas City Council, headed by José María González Lorenzo, has presented the 2026 edition of this established initiative. The coastline of Arucas will become a hub for learning, sports, and environmental awareness.
Under the slogan 'Environmental experiences and activities on the coast of Arucas', the program will span nearly three weeks. It will include educational workshops, sports events, cultural activities, and awareness campaigns for all ages. The goal is to promote knowledge of local biodiversity, encourage sustainable practices, and foster responsible enjoyment of the natural environment.
This project is supported by the collaboration of various entities, associations, companies, and institutions committed to sustainability. The department highlights that this event has become a key pillar in the municipality's environmental agenda, emphasizing the scenic and ecological richness of the Arucas coastline.
The organization will soon release the detailed program, registration deadlines, and the procedure for participating in each of the activities.
