The incident occurred around 12:14 PM, when the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert about a person struggling to get out of the water. An extensive security and emergency operation was immediately activated.
The beach rescue service, managed by Cruz Roja, carried out the rescue of the affected individual. Upon being pulled from the sea, the man was in cardiorespiratory arrest, necessitating his urgent transfer to the point where medical resources were waiting.
Personnel from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC), who dispatched a medicalized and a sanitized ambulance to the scene, immediately began advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers. After intense work, the paramedics managed to reverse the arrest and stabilize the patient.
Once stabilized, the affected person was evacuated by medicalized ambulance to Doctor Negrín Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition. The emergency operation involved coordinated efforts from the Fire, Rescue, and Salvage Service of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, along with agents from the Local Police and the National Police, who collaborated to secure the area and facilitate assistance.
