The operation, carried out by the Drug and Organized Crime Unit (UDYCO) in Las Palmas, intercepted a stash of hashish transported hidden among corn. According to investigations, the substance originated from Morocco and was intended for distribution across the Archipelago.
The criminal group used a logistics infrastructure that included the use of transport companies and rental vans to avoid detection by security forces. During the operation, officers seized various materials used for preparing the shipments.
Following the arrest of three individuals, the judicial authority in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has ordered provisional prison without bail for those involved. The investigation remains open and further police actions are not ruled out in the coming days.
