The operation, led by the UDYCO unit in Las Palmas, resulted in the seizure of 350 kilograms of narcotics. According to the findings, the network used a logistics infrastructure to distribute the drugs between islands, hiding the packages among crates of vegetables, specifically corn cobs, to avoid detection during transport.
The criminal network, based in Gran Canaria, used rental vans for their maritime and land movements to hinder police tracking. The investigation revealed that the hashish originated from Morocco and was introduced into the inter-island distribution circuit through local logistics companies.
In addition to the drugs, officers seized several vehicles and equipment used to prepare the shipments. The economic damage caused to the criminal organization is estimated at 700,000 euros. The detainees have been brought before the judicial authority, which has ordered their imprisonment.
