The closing gala of the 4th Telde Film Festival, held this Saturday at the Municipal Theater Juan Ramón Jiménez, marked a milestone by becoming the edition with the highest participation and attendance since its inception. The event, which championed Canarian identity under the slogan «Sin acento neutro» (Without a neutral accent), has reaffirmed its consolidation in the archipelago's audiovisual landscape.
The event featured a red carpet inspired by the flag of the Canary Islands and a crowded photocall that brought together industry professionals and institutional representatives, creating a festive atmosphere celebrating the seventh art.
The figures from this edition reflect its growth, with 330 registered participants and a two-week program that has filled various city spaces with screenings, workshops, and encounters.
The mayor of Telde, Juan Antonio Peña, and the Councilor for Culture, Juan Martel, highlighted the festival's momentum. Martel stated that the event 'is already consolidated,' while Peña emphasized the importance of culture in projecting the image of Telde.
The top award, the Neptuno de Telde for Best Short Film, was given to ‘Idaira’ by Natt Monroy. Other awards included the Jury's Special Prize for ‘Mamma’, the Audience Award and Best Documentary for ‘Vaya Suerte’, and the Honorary Award for Antonia San Juan.
