UD Las Palmas midfielder, Kirian Rodríguez, has expressed his strong belief in achieving direct promotion to La Liga EA Sports, considering it a personal objective.
The player, known as '20', emphasized the importance of the team shedding the "backpack" of pressure and doubts, especially ahead of the crucial upcoming match against CD Leganés. Despite the team's current position, seventh and four points behind second place, Kirian dismisses the idea that Friday's game is a final.
“
"Last year I left the team in Primera, the relegation hurt me a lot, I suffered it, I was in the hospital and I suffered it more than what was happening to me. I sincerely trust everyone I have here because I know they are great players, an incredible team, and I know we are going to fight for it until the end because we want to return UD Las Palmas to Primera, which is where it should be."
Rodríguez has defended coach Luis García Fernández's work, expressing the locker room's full confidence in his leadership. He recalled that UD Las Palmas has the ability to "beat anyone" in the category, despite having only secured one victory in their last seven away games.
The footballer also addressed self-criticism, attributing the poor away performance to a lack of confidence. He urged the team to take more risks and be more offensive, acknowledging that mistakes are penalized and accuracy is key in Segunda División. Regarding the controversial CTA decision on Taisei's action, Kirian noted that "we have to grin and bear it," although the match could have been different.

"Being out of the playoff zone right now is an extra motivation for us. We cannot let this slip through our hands. We have been in promotion contention all year, fighting for a common goal, and that is what we have to do until the end. I am convinced that we will achieve it tooth and nail, because that is what we want."
