The City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria collected a total of 21,000 kilograms of waste during October through its Temporary Collection Points (PAT), a mobile service that facilitates the proper management of special household waste.

The mobile service, which covers the city's five districts, made 110 stops across various neighborhoods last month. This initiative offers citizens a free alternative for disposing of waste that, due to its characteristics, cannot be placed in conventional bins.
Héctor Alemán, Councilor for Urban Hygiene and Carnival, highlighted that "the Temporary Collection Points offer citizens a convenient and accessible service to dispose of furniture, belongings, and other waste properly, preventing them from ending up abandoned on public streets." Alemán added that the distribution of these points across the five districts facilitates their use and ensures the appropriate treatment of collected waste.
Through this service, residents can deposit furniture, mattresses, bed bases, appliances, electronic and IT equipment, as well as wood and metal pieces and clean debris from small domestic renovations. The collected materials are subsequently transferred to the Municipal Cleaning Service's Waste Sorting Point for proper management.
The Temporary Collection Points operate from Monday to Friday, including holidays, between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM. During November, the service has 105 scheduled stops across the five districts of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Citizens can consult the monthly schedule and locations on the City Council's official website and social media.
