Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will host the national assembly of the Spain Convention Bureau (SCB) this Thursday, June 4th, and Friday, June 5th, bringing together Spain's leading destinations specializing in business tourism, congresses, and events.

The Gran Canarian capital is hosting this event which will gather institutional representatives, technical staff, and professionals from the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) sector. The opening session will feature the mayor and vice-president of the SCB, Carolina Darias, as host. Also participating will be the president of the SCB and of the Consell Insular d’Eivissa, Vicente Marí Torres, and the secretary-general of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (Femp), Luis Martínez-Sicluna.
The annual assembly is conceived as a space for reflection and coordination to boost MICE tourism, a segment considered strategic for its capacity to generate economic activity, qualified employment, and contribute to tourism de-seasonality.
During the sessions, challenges and opportunities facing the sector will be analyzed, experiences will be exchanged among destinations integrated into the network, and best practices in organizing meetings, infrastructure quality, and connectivity will be shared.
Under the theme ‘Emocionar para humanizar’ (To thrill to humanize), the program will address topics such as innovation, sustainability, digitalization, attracting international events, and the trends transforming the congress and meetings industry.
