UD Las Palmas coach, Luis García, has stated that immediacy is key in football, prioritizing the upcoming match against CD Leganés at the Estadio de Gran Canaria over any long-term planning.

For the Asturian coach, the clash against the Madrid team is not considered a final, unlike the perception of many of his players. García argues that a final implies there are no more matches afterward, while his footballers do use this term for the upcoming games, which are crucial for promotion to Primera División.

"There is no doubt that it is a very important match, but football has taught me that the most important thing is what's next, because there's no point in thinking long-term, although it's normal for players to think big and achieve important goals."

With seven matchdays remaining in LaLiga Hypermotion, the yellow team is outside the promotion play-off spots. Therefore, a home victory is imperative, as, according to the Oviedo-born coach, “everything is very close, and details are very important.”
García Fernández also referred to the injury absence of Japanese player Taisei Miyashiro, describing it as a serious setback due to his contributions in both attack and defense. However, he believes that his absence should be an opportunity for other players to prove their worth.
Finally, as a “defender of referees,” García praised their work on the field. He understood that the main referee of the match in Málaga might not have seen a possible penalty on Miyashiro due to its difficulty, but he criticized the VAR for not intervening, as, with the technical means available, the action was “very clear” to see.
