Agents from the Fiscal and Borders Patrol (PAFIF) located numerous beverages in a warehouse, mainly international liquors, which lacked the mandatory tax stamp or bore allegedly fraudulent seals. The seized merchandise, totaling 1,674 liters, is valued at over 44,000 euros.
Among the confiscated products were lychee liqueurs, sorghum spirits up to 62% alcohol, and cinnamon liqueurs, all with irregularities in labeling and sealing. The investigation has identified the person responsible for the establishment and administrative management of the merchandise.
The agents managed to immobilize the entire batch before it could be distributed in the retail market, thus preventing a potential risk to public health. During the inspection, state-of-the-art scanning tools were used to quickly verify the authenticity of fiscal seals and detect non-compliance with tax regulations.
The merchandise has been sealed and is at the disposal of the competent authority. The proceedings have been forwarded to the Regional Department of Customs and Special Taxes of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for the initiation of the corresponding sanctioning procedure.
