Officials from the Gender Violence courts in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria protested this Thursday outside the City of Justice, stating they have not received payment for their shifts for over four months.

The staff demonstrated with whistles and banners, expressing their frustration over what they described as “unfulfilled promises.” A powerful chant echoed among all the workers at the entrance of the judicial building: “Enough is enough, four months without pay.”
According to the employees, Gender Violence Courtroom 4, presided over by a magistrate, is understaffed. This situation has forced the team to work 72-hour shifts in each courtroom.

"We cover the shifts for Courtroom 4 among all of us, including weekends and holidays. We are doubling shifts, and they are supposed to pay us for that outside of our regular salary, but they haven't."

Those affected emphasize that a resolution published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) supports their right to receive these payments. Their demand is simply to be paid for the work they have done, in accordance with current legislation.
