Former UD Las Palmas footballer, Pepe Juan Suárez, has broken his silence after a judicial eviction in Tamaraceite, denouncing a "defamation campaign" that has severely impacted his personal life and reputation.

The conflict, which culminated in a favorable judicial resolution for Suárez, originated from a housing dispute dating back to 2022. The former player claims he has been the target of an "unexpected defamation campaign" that has "overwhelmed" and "surpassed" him in the last two months.
According to Suárez, the campaign began within the family circle of his ex-partner, Mary's children, and was fueled by a content creator self-identified as Alejandro. The latter, through his social media, allegedly spread "all kinds of insults, slanders, and falsehoods" about him and his relationship with Mary.
The dispute centers on a terraced house on Betel Street in Tamaraceite, where Suárez lived with Mary since 1998. Although the property was not formally registered in Mary's or her children's names, Suárez asserts that his ex-partner guaranteed him the right to live there through a will made in 2020, with the intention that he would remain there after her death.

"For the past two months, it has overwhelmed me… it has surpassed me."

Following Mary's passing on March 28, 2022, Suárez recounts that his ex-partner's children changed the locks on the house and denied him access, despite, he claims, formally accepting the inheritance and the right granted by their mother in his favor in May 2022. This led him to initiate legal proceedings to regain peaceful possession of the property.
The proceedings concluded with a ruling by the Provincial Court of Las Palmas recognizing his right, which was upheld by the Supreme Court in September 2024. However, the recent eviction has gained widespread attention on social media, where Suárez alleges that a "false narrative" has been created, ignoring the judicial resolutions.
In addition to the housing conflict, Suárez laments the disappearance of his belongings, including memorabilia from his football career and, notably, a handwritten letter Mary wrote to him before her death. He also describes the "uninhabitable" condition of the house after the eviction, with doors and windows missing.

"I want them to fix the house and leave it as they found it the day they entered and changed the lock."

Looking ahead, Pepe Juan Suárez plans to pursue further legal action to demand the repair of the house and a public retraction from those he claims contributed to the harassment campaign.
