Quevedo's new album, titled El Baifo, is set to be released this week, as confirmed during a drone event at Las Canteras beach. This announcement concludes months of speculation among his followers regarding the release date.
Thousands of people gathered on the beach without knowing the exact reason, but expectations were met when the sky lit up with dozens of drones. These drones formed figures related to the album's theme, which also gives its name to his third musical project.
The light show was accompanied by sounds that are expected to be part of the album's style. These melodies could be previews of songs anticipated to resonate on major national radio stations. Although there is no official date, industry dynamics suggest the release could occur in the latter half of the week to maximize its impact.
“"Here we are all coastal."
The event culminated with Las Canteras beach transforming into an open-air discotheque, featuring tracks like Ni Borracho, one of his previous singles, and Somos costeros by Los Gofiones, creating a festive atmosphere among attendees. The announcement was also live-streamed on Instagram, attracting tens of thousands of global viewers.
This album promises to be deeply rooted in the idiosyncrasies of the Canary Islands. His previous singles, Ni Borracho and Scandic, have already reached number one nationally. The participation of Elvis Crespo in a collaboration has been confirmed, although other details remain undisclosed.
Quevedo's new musical phase began on January 29 with a social media message. Subsequently, on February 12, he released Ni Borracho, followed by Scandic on March 19, an ode to the island of La Palma. Recently, an interview with Jordi Évole in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria fueled theories about the new project, confirming the album's title and its imminent release.
