As the start of the 50th edition of the Rally Islas Canarias approaches, which for the second consecutive year is part of the world calendar, anticipation among Gran Canarian fans is growing. Before tomorrow's events, supporters have the opportunity to interact with their driving idols in the capital.
The most prominent drivers of the world competition will gather from 6:00 PM in Plaza de Santa Ana for an autograph signing session, offering island fans the chance to get a souvenir from their asphalt heroes. This same location hosted the traditional starting ceremony in 2025, which will not take place this year.
After this meeting, the public, who have already closely followed the test days held earlier in the week at various points on the island, must wait until tomorrow to start enjoying the sound of the engines. For the second consecutive year, the municipality of Santa Brígida will host the shakedown, starting at 11:00 AM. This 6.26-kilometer section, although not scoring, is crucial for participants to test different configurations and find the most suitable for their driving style.
The next appearance of the vehicles participating in this 50th edition of the Rally Islas Canarias will be in the afternoon, at 6:00 PM, with an exciting show stage inside the Estadio de Gran Canaria. This 1.4-kilometer asphalt circuit, built in record time, has been designed to maximize the enjoyment of the thousands of expected fans, and drivers will complete three laps.
The event will span five days full of adrenaline, with various activities scheduled. Wednesday includes the presentation of Lancia at Avenida Escaleritas, 57 at 4:30 PM, and the autograph signing at Plaza Santa Ana at 6:00 PM. Skoda Canarias will hold a meeting with Alexey Lukyanuk at its Miller Bajo dealership at 7:39 PM.
On Thursday, the shakedown in Santa Brígida will take place from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, followed by the show stage at the Estadio de Gran Canaria from 6:00 PM. Friday will feature stages in Valleseco-Artenara, Tejeda-San Mateo, and Mogán-La Aldea, culminating with a night show stage at the stadium at 8:25 PM. On Saturday, stages will be held in Maspalomas, Arucas-Firgas-Teror, and Moya-Gáldar. Finally, Sunday will close the competition with stages in Ingenio-Telde-Valsequillo and Santa Lucía-Agüimes.
