The Environmental Unit (UMAT) of the Local Police of Telde has identified the alleged perpetrator of several illegal construction waste dumps in the municipality's ravines, originating from a renovation in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The UMAT investigation has linked two illegal dumping incidents, which occurred on March 16 in the Barranco Real de Telde and on March 20 in the Barranco El Cabral, to the same individual. The waste, primarily rubble and wood, came from a home renovation in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The identification of the responsible party was made possible through inspection and monitoring efforts by agents, as well as crucial citizen collaboration. Information provided by residents was essential in accelerating the investigation and initiating the corresponding administrative proceedings.

Citizen collaboration has been key to clarifying the facts. The information provided by residents allowed the investigation to progress and action to be taken more quickly.

The Local Police of Telde reiterates that uncontrolled waste dumping is a serious infraction, carrying significant financial penalties and causing severe damage to the natural environment. The public is urged to continue reporting such behaviors through official channels to protect the environment.
