The growing demand for maritime adventures in the Canary Islands has boosted the offer of boat rentals, allowing sea enthusiasts to explore from the coasts of Gran Canaria to distant destinations like the Caribbean. Specialized companies and private owners make dozens of boats available, with options ranging from a few hours to ten-day voyages.
Most of these vessels are docked at the Muelle Deportivo and the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria. An example is the Jeanneau sailboat, 12 meters long, which can accommodate up to seven people for overnight stays or ten for day excursions, offering a comfortable and versatile experience.
“"Each outing is personalized, and we currently offer excursions of between three and eight hours, around the area of Las Canteras, Sardina, or another coastal area of Gran Canaria. The most requested is a four-hour route, whose price usually ranges between 290 and 350 euros."
Nautisport, managed by Miguel Beneyto, offers personalized routes along the coast of Gran Canaria, including swimming stops and meal services. Additionally, there are options for three-day inter-island getaways, priced at 1,300 euros, allowing visits to towns like Morro Jable in Fuerteventura or Puerto de La Cruz in Tenerife, with dockings to explore these locations.
The rental market at the Port of Las Palmas features nearly 80 boats. Some, like the 30 from Alborán Charter, require the client to hold a skipper's license. Fernando Garzón, manager of Alborán Charter, explains that their main clientele consists of European, North American, and Canadian tourists looking to sail around the islands. Meanwhile, Keepsailing offers catamaran voyages connecting Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with other islands, Ibiza, the Azores, or even the Caribbean, with prices ranging from 99 to 1,600 euros per passenger.
The offer is complemented by private individuals who, through nautical portals, rent out their own boats, such as the Marivi, the Baviera, or the Oceanis, providing the public with the opportunity to experience unique maritime adventures, from adventure to luxury afloat.
