The municipality of Telde has kicked off a new edition of the Rafa Nadal Tour by Santander, establishing itself as a key venue for national youth tennis for the fifth consecutive year.

The facilities at Tennis Academy El Cortijo are hosting this tournament, which brings together nearly 200 young talents in the under-12 to under-16 categories. The competition, held on hard courts, aims to combine high-performance sports with the promotion of values such as effort and respect.
During the official presentation, representatives from the Telde City Council and the Gran Canaria Island Council highlighted the importance of this event for promoting the island as a sports destination. The tournament allows local athletes to compete at the highest level without needing to travel outside the archipelago.
The tournament, part of a national circuit with seven venues, has already begun with the first main draw matches. Following the opening day, the schedule includes the round of 16 this Wednesday, followed by the quarterfinals and semifinals, culminating next Saturday with the final matches.
