The city of Telde has been selected as a setting for the filming of ‘The Last Druid’, a significant cinematic production that highlights the municipality's diverse landscapes. Locations such as Playa del Hombre and Hoya del Pozo were chosen for the development of the shoot, taking advantage of the beauty of its coastline.
The mayor of Telde, Juan Antonio Peña, and the Councilor for Beaches, María Calderín, visited the set to welcome the crew. During their visit, they observed the significant technical and human deployment involved in a production of this scale, with an international team working collaboratively.
Adrián Guerra, founder of Nostromo Pictures, the production company responsible for the film, was present at the meeting. Mayor Peña expressed his pride in Telde being chosen as a setting, emphasizing the municipality's potential for storytelling and international projection, especially with a figure like Russell Crowe.
Municipal representatives highlighted the opportunity for the city that arises when its natural and emblematic landscapes become part of major productions with national and international reach. They also noted that cinematographic activity generates economic returns through municipal fees and the promotion of Telde's locations.
The arrival of ‘The Last Druid’ follows other recent projects such as ‘Vaya Vacaciones’ and ‘Leones en invierno’, the latter featuring José Coronado, further solidifying Telde's commitment to becoming an audiovisual hub.
This trend aligns with the Telde City Council's strategy to position the municipality as an attractive destination for cinema. Recently, an investment of over one million euros was approved for the creation of a new film studio in El Goro, aiming to expand the municipality's audiovisual production capabilities.
The municipal institution reaffirms its commitment to facilitating the arrival of new productions, contributing to the projection of Telde's image, valuing its spaces, and generating economic and promotional benefits, thereby consolidating its appeal as a natural film set.
