Telde is gearing up to conclude the year with an ambitious cultural agenda extending through December. The municipality has announced over 50 activities encompassing music, tradition, theater, dance, humor, literature, and cinema, to be held in various venues.
The program, organized by the Department of Culture and the public company Gestel, seeks to establish Telde as a cultural meeting point, offering a mix of formats and disciplines with the participation of local artists and renowned creators.
The Mayor of Telde, Juan Antonio Peña, presided over the presentation, emphasizing the coordination between the involved departments to create an agenda that is "varied, accessible, and high-quality." He highlighted the city's capacity to host major events and the significant role of culture in its social and economic development.
For his part, the Councilor for Culture, Juan Martel, stressed that the agenda "brings culture closer to citizens and neighborhoods," fostering activity and opportunities. He thanked the staff of the Municipal Libraries and the Municipal School of Music, Dance, and Theater of Telde, as well as the participating artists and production companies.
The manager of Gestel, Jesús Suárez, detailed some of the highlighted events, including the XIII Luis Natera Festival, the play 'La Ropa Vieja de Cuca' starring Antonia San Juan, the book presentation 'Mamá está dormida' by Máximo Huerta, Jazz Francisco 2026, La Noche de Finaos, and comedy shows featuring Maestro Florido, Aarón Gómez, Jorge Ávila, and Karcocha, in addition to Christmas events.
Suárez also underscored the increased budget allocated to Culture, which will enable the municipality to exceed 550 cultural activities annually, a 15% rise compared to previous years, accompanied by greater citizen participation.
Municipal officials agreed that investment in culture generates economic activity, opportunities for professionals and companies in the sector, and strengthens citizen engagement, positively impacting municipal revenues.
Through this initiative, Telde reinforces its commitment to accessible and diverse culture, supporting local talent and revitalizing its cultural and public spaces as part of its significant 675th anniversary.
