Transportes La Pardilla SL wishes to convey a message of tranquility to the residents of Telde following recent reports about the continuity of the urban transport service. The company has decided not to charge users directly and will continue to offer the service free of charge, provided it can sustain the costs with its own resources.
This decision is made to avoid any detriment to the thousands of citizens who use these lines daily. However, it does not resolve the underlying issue: the company has yet to receive the 689,092.66 euros, plus interest and legal costs, recognized by a final ruling from the Contentious-Administrative Court on October 21, 2025.
The City Council initiated a specific budget modification to execute the ruling and informed the Court that the file would allow payment after the public exhibition period. To date, payment has not been made, although company representatives have held discussions with municipal officials who indicate the process is in its final stages and payment could be made soon.
The company positively assesses these discussions and is confident that the municipal commitment will be honored promptly, thus complying with a final ruling. As early as May 2025, the company had warned the Telde City Council about the potential impact on the continuity of urban transport if administrative inaction persisted, requesting an urgent solution.
That request did not receive a formal response, but Transportes La Pardilla continued providing the service normally, covering the growing economic deficit and preventing citizens from suffering the consequences.
The company clarifies that it is not seeking extraordinary aid but the payment of amounts judicially recognized. For over five years, it has self-funded the deficit generated by the free urban transport service, an effort exceeding one and a half million euros and continuously increasing. The City Council even approved a budget modification to meet this obligation.
As long as its financial resources allow, Transportes La Pardilla will continue offering the service free of charge out of responsibility to the citizens of Telde. They trust that the commitment conveyed by the City Council will bring a swift end to this prolonged situation and express gratitude for the disposition shown in recent contacts.
