A fire that broke out this Friday in a home in the Gran Canarian municipality of Telde has resulted in two people being injured, one of them seriously, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes).

The affected individuals include a 56-year-old man, who suffered severe burns and smoke inhalation, and a woman of the same age, who experienced minor health problems. The man was transported by ambulance to the Insular Hospital in the capital of Gran Canaria for specialized medical care.
The alert reached the 112 operations room shortly after 2:30 PM on Friday, reporting a fire in a residence located on Pedro de la Ascensión street, in the urban center of Telde.
Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed that the blaze had already been extinguished, and their efforts focused on ventilating the property. Concurrently, medical personnel assessed and assisted the two affected individuals, both of whom were taken to a hospital.
Both the National Police and officers from the Telde Local Police secured the area and collaborated with other deployed emergency resources, while an investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
