The match, held in Marbella, showcased two distinct halves for Rubén de la Barrera's team. In the first half, the yellow team's lack of intensity and rhythm was punished by Leiria, who took the lead through goals from Juan Muñoz (penalty) and Pablo Fernández.
After halftime and with numerous substitutions, UD Las Palmas displayed a more recognizable and energetic performance. The midfield connection with Iván Medina and Iñaki, along with the high press from Elías, Jefté, and Jesé, revitalized the team.
The comeback began with two goals from Taisei Miyashiro, leveling the score. Later, Jefté, assisted by Pezzolesi, scored the decisive header (3-2) in the final stages of the match, sealing the team's first pre-season victory.
The game started with a defensive error that led to a penalty in the 36th second, converted by Juan Muñoz. Leiria, more intense, capitalized on UD's inaccuracies to create chances and double their lead with a goal from Pablo Fernández in the 18th minute.
Despite attempts from Jesé and saves from goalkeeper Horkas, who prevented a third Portuguese goal, the first half ended with a 0-2 scoreline. There was also a disallowed goal for Leiria and an injury to Villote.
In the second half, with the introduction of players like Jefté and Elías Romero, UD showed greater attacking intent. Miyashiro reduced the deficit in the 54th minute with a great shot and two minutes later equalized with a header from a Clemente cross.
The overall improvement of the yellow team was consolidated with the arrival of Iñaki and Iván Medina. Although Leiria tried to respond, UD's defense and pressing after losing possession neutralized their attacks.
In the final minutes, after another round of substitutions, Jefté scored the winning goal in the 86th minute with an unstoppable header, completing the comeback and giving UD Las Palmas their first win of this pre-season.
