The board of UD Las Palmas, led by president Miguel Ángel Ramírez, is meeting today to establish ticket prices for the first leg of the playoff semi-final against Málaga, scheduled for Sunday at 8:00 PM at the Estadio de Gran Canaria. With 25,000 season ticket holders, a large attendance is expected. In the 2022 promotion against Tete, season ticket holders did not pay but had to collect their tickets, while non-season ticket holders paid between 25 and 75 euros depending on the stand.
Another key point on the agenda is negotiating the team bus's passage through Fondos de Segura street, a tradition observed during previous celebrations, such as the promotion to the top division in May 2023. Approval from the Security Department is pending to activate this reunion between players and fans.
The current season has seen a notable improvement in the team's performance under Luis García's management, surpassing the points record from the 2022-23 season. The best attendance of the season is anticipated against Málaga, with the hope of exceeding the 25,193 spectators recorded in the match against Dépor.
“"Well, here we are. Well, again."
Captain Jonathan Viera, considered one of the best players of the century for UD, has expressed his commitment for the remainder of the season. At 36 years old and after playing his third playoff with the club, Viera will leave the Gran Canarian team at the end of the campaign to focus on coaching Arucas. The attacking midfielder, who has scored 78 goals in 293 matches, described the season as a "great year" and has publicly defended Luis García.
