The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) has inaugurated Pósit, an innovative university entrepreneurship space located in the Tafira campus library, designed to connect students with the business ecosystem.
This new environment, established with the collaboration of the DISA Foundation and the Canarian Employment Service, is envisioned as a dynamic meeting point for students. Its purpose is to facilitate the generation and development of ideas that can evolve into startups and business projects across various fields of knowledge.
“
"Pósit is born with the vocation of becoming a living, dynamic, and practical space, where ideas aimed at creating startups and business projects in all areas of knowledge can be generated and developed."
Currently, Pósit already hosts two active entrepreneurship programs at the ULPGC. These include the Innovative Entrepreneurial Challenge program, organized in collaboration with the School of Industrial Organization, which seeks to enhance the viability of new businesses. Additionally, the Start ULPGC program supports the creation of student-led companies with a strong innovative component.
Students will have access to comprehensive advice for business creation, specialized information, and training activities designed to strengthen their entrepreneurial spirit. They will be able to mature their business ideas and transform them into concrete projects.
“
"Pósit represents an important step within the ULPGC's entrepreneurship strategy. It is not just a physical place, but an environment designed to connect talent, ideas, and opportunities; a true meeting point between our students and the business fabric."
“
"We have been working hand in hand with the university for a long time to contribute to generating an entrepreneurial culture among students through our chair for the Promotion of the Entrepreneurial Spirit. Pósit will be that place where many ideas will transform into projects and many hopes into realities."
A representative from the Government of Canarias highlighted the initiative as an example of the university's role in generating talent and innovation for young Canarians. They emphasized that spaces like Pósit strengthen the connection between academic training and the productive sector, facilitating the transformation of new ideas into viable business projects on the islands.
