A group of retirees from Editorial Prensa Canaria, now part of Prensa Ibérica, made an emotional visit to the facilities of the newspaper LA PROVINCIA-Diario de Las Palmas and Artes Gráficas del Atlántico in Arinaga, reminiscing about their professional careers.

The day, marked by camaraderie and nostalgia, allowed former workers to relive the production processes of the historic newspaper. Guided by José Buigues, former head of Workshops, participants explored the intricacies behind the daily publication of LA PROVINCIA-DLP, both in its print and digital versions.
During their tour of the newsroom, they had the opportunity to greet the current director, Fernando Canellada, and the journalists preparing the next day's edition. Subsequently, the group moved to Artes Gráficas del Atlántico S.A. in Arinaga, a printing center of Prensa Ibérica and one of the most important printing plants in the Canary Islands since 1986.

Without a doubt, this company has become the leading printing plant in the Canary Islands since 1986.

At Artes Gráficas, Rafael Hernández, also a retiree and former Operations Director at Prensa Ibérica, provided a detailed explanation of the printing of newspapers, magazines, and commercial brochures using offset rotary presses. Visitors also observed the activity at TV Videre studios, where programs for Televisión Canaria and other associated media are produced.
The day concluded with a fellowship lunch at a restaurant in Arinaga, where the Prensa Ibérica retirees (editors, graphic reporters, workshop and administration staff, distribution, and advertising) recalled the importance of mastheads like the old Diario de Las Palmas and LA PROVINCIA, as well as the drive of Prensa Ibérica in the Canary Islands, thanks to its founders Javier Moll de Miguel and Arantxa Sarasola.
Among the retired workers who participated in this visit to the LA PROVINCIA-DLP facilities were José Delgado, Juan Santana, Miguel Pérez and his wife Esther, Rafael Hernández and his wife Beatriz, José Buigues, José Silva, Antonio Ortega, Maripino Lasso Godoy, Teresa Jiménez Castro, Amado Moreno Suárez, and the former editor of Diario de Las Palmas who penned these lines, along with his wife Remedios Perdomo.
