The Telde Municipal Market will be the venue next Monday, October 19th, for an awareness, information, and prevention day on the occasion of World Breast Cancer Day. The activity, organized by the Department of Health of the Telde City Council, will take place from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
The initiative aims to provide citizens with information about the disease, promote self-knowledge of the body, and emphasize the importance of early detection and attending recommended medical check-ups. Healthcare professionals will conduct practical workshops on breast self-examination, teaching participants how to recognize potential changes and when to consult a healthcare professional.
The event will also feature the participation of Tejedores de Telde, who will create pink solidarity ribbons, and the Canarian Association of Breast Cancer and Gynecology, which will have an information booth to offer guidance and support resources.
The Councilor for Health, Janoa Anceaume, highlighted the importance of holding these activities in everyday, busy spaces to facilitate public access to information and consultations with professionals and specialized entities.
As part of the commemoration, the municipal building of El Cubillo will be illuminated in pink on the night of October 19th, joining international awareness efforts.
