The May Festivities of Santa Cruz de Tenerife kick off their musical program this Friday with the 'Letters to Néstor' concert in Plaza de La Candelaria, a free event blending symphonic and traditional Canarian music.

The 'Letters to Néstor' concert marks the beginning of a weekend full of performances in the capital of Tenerife. This show, held in Plaza de La Candelaria from 8:00 PM, pays tribute to the memory and artistic legacy of Néstor Álamo, an essential figure in Canarian culture of the last century.
The event will feature the voices of Besay Pérez and Iván Quintana, renowned performers from the island's music scene. They will be accompanied by an ensemble from the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra and traditional Canarian instruments, offering a proposal that intertwines the symphonic format with the popular roots of the archipelago's compositions.
This performance signals the start of a musical weekend within the foundational festivities of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This year's edition once again opts for open-air concerts, aiming to bring culture closer to citizens from one of the most emblematic venues in the city center.
The cultural program will continue on Saturday with 'Santa Cruz, World Heart of Bolero', a historic event that will bring together artists and groups linked to this genre, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. On Sunday, the festivities will conclude with the traditional Tajaraste Multicultural Festival, dedicated to Canarian folklore and the dissemination of the archipelago's popular traditions.
