The historic Librería Lemus, a commercial and cultural landmark in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, has categorically denied rumors of a supposed cessation of its activity.

Through an official statement published on Instagram, the establishment's management has confirmed that the bookstore is "fully operational" and that the recent removal of its iconic sign, located at the intersection of Heraclio Sánchez Street and Catedral Street, was "misinterpreted".
The confusion arose after the sign's removal, which was carried out by the specialized company for the conservation of historical heritage, Insula Signa, with the aim of ensuring its preservation. This action, as the managers have clarified, does not imply the cessation of its commercial operations in any way.
"Our bookstore at Heraclio Sánchez, 64 continues to operate completely normally," the managers emphasized in a public note. They specified that all activity, sections, and bibliographic collections remain unified and available at this physical location, maintaining both their usual opening hours and their online sales platform.
Founded in 1973, Librería Lemus now boasts over half a century of uninterrupted service within the cultural life and commercial fabric of Aguere (San Cristóbal de La Laguna). The business management has expressed gratitude for the numerous displays of affection and calls of concern received from customers during these uncertain days, assuring that their commitment to readers remains intact "with doors open and the same enthusiasm as always."
