“"With this project, we continue to advance in our commitment to improve and expand the island's cultural spaces, also taking advantage of a privileged location like Morro Velosa to bring knowledge of our territory and its natural values closer to residents and visitors."
According to the Minister of Culture, Rayco León, this action is part of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura's action plan for the revaluation and renovation of the Island's museum network. It aims to modernize existing facilities and create new spaces and equipment, leveraging the potential of the Mirador de Morro Velosa for environmental education and the understanding of the Majorero landscape.
The future centre is envisioned as an innovative interpretation space, moving away from the traditional exhibition concept to offer an attractive, educational, and immersive experience for visitors. The content will cover aspects such as the geological formation and arid landscape of Fuerteventura, biodiversity, and the natural processes that have shaped the territory, using various exhibition, audiovisual, and interactive resources. The project also includes an immersive experiential space for a sensory and participatory approach to these topics.
