During an official appearance, the head of the Festivities department of the Tenerife council emphasized that, to date, the contractor has not presented invoices or evidence proving the completion of the contracted work. The councilor stated that the local administration maintains a firm stance of not paying any amount until the effective execution of the services is verified.
The controversy stems from a minor contract signed last February for an advertising campaign linked to the Carnival festivities. Although the opposition has questioned the management and the nature of the content presented as justification, the government team insists that the administrative process is ongoing and that no financial disbursement has occurred.
The debate in the municipal plenary session also addressed the suitability of the media selected to promote the city's tourism brand. While some political groups have criticized the choice of platform, others have defended freedom of communication and the need to promote local events through various channels.
“"Until the company justifies the services and they are verified, we are not going to pay absolutely anything."
