The festival, recognized as one of the most attended in the Canary Islands, will commence its journey from Plaza de Tegueste, ascending along El Pino street. The traditional carts will initially be positioned in La Placeta and on Jesús Cedrés street, as per municipal planning.
From these points, the carts will join the parade, descending along La Audiencia street, continuing through El Carmen street, and then ascending Nueva street. The circuit will proceed through the pedestrian area of the town center to reconnect with El Pino street, thus completing the traditional route of the festivity.
To ensure the smooth running of the day, the Local Security Board has coordinated a special operation involving approximately 200 personnel. This deployment will include 90 officers from the Guardia Civil, 26 local police officers, 18 members of the Canary Islands Police, and 30 civil protection personnel, among other security forces. The operation will manage traffic regulation, access control, and coordination with transport services such as TITSA.
“"Planning is key for the San Marcos Pilgrimage to proceed with complete normality."
The Councilor for Festivities, Eladia López, highlighted the importance of meticulous organization for the success of this event, one of the most anticipated by the municipality's residents. The council has emphasized the need for attendees to respect security instructions and the established route to prevent any incidents during the passage of the carts and the large influx of visitors.
Additionally, the City Council will set up a Violet Point on Casino street. This space, dedicated to providing information and support in situations of harassment or sexist aggression, will be operational from 3:00 PM on the day of the pilgrimage until 1:00 AM on Monday, April 27.
