The march, which will start at Plaza Weyler, will pass through key locations such as the Parliament of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo de Tenerife, and the Presidency of the Government. This action follows a judicial decision that ordered the precautionary suspension of works on a plot of approximately 2,500 square meters within the Protection Servitude Zone.
“"It's a small great triumph, but time passes and the works continue at full speed in the rest of the macro-urbanization causing irreversible damage."
The protest organizers believe that, although the judicial measure is a step forward, works are still progressing in other areas of the project. They propose transforming the area into a Site Museum of the History and Nature of Tenerife to preserve the Guanche remains, endemic flora, marine fauna, and unique rocks of the area.
“"Enough of them trampling us, selling us, robbing us, and deceiving us Canarians; this urbanization madness must be stopped, for everything we have said and for what it represents."
The collective also recalled that April marks two years since the “historic 20A” and an ecotax, a measure already widespread in many important tourist destinations worldwide, has not yet been implemented. They emphasize the urgency of the situation, especially while awaiting a judicial ruling on an expert report detailing the damages caused across the entire Cuna del Alma project.
